Empowering a Food & Beverage CTO with Expert Software Consulting

SOFTWARE CONSULTING CASE STUDY

Written by Chris Picard

The Client

Pick Me Up Drinks is a small specialty food and beverage chain.

The Problem and Pain Points

Jeff, the CTO, was hired to create a new application for the chain that helped them manage their inventory, staffing, and scheduling needs. Jeff is a skilled engineer but needed to gain some experience to create the entire system in a high-quality manner. He hired our company to provide short-term consulting to help provide design expertise to build the system.

The Solution

In the past, I have designed many systems that provide inventory management, staff management, and scheduling.

We had several calls during which I helped Jeff create the application design.

After each call, Jeff performed additional research and prototyping. We then set up the next consulting call to continue improving the design, which allowed Jeff to get the most out of each session without requiring many hours.

The Results

  • Jeff completed the application implementation with a quality design and on budget.

  • He was also able to make further upgrades to the application.

  • The company, which was restricted in resources, did not need to hire another full-time senior engineer.

Our Unique Approach

Unlike other consulting companies, we aim to provide targeted insight to help a company solve specific problems or provide the expertise needed in the short term. We strive to ensure that a client can succeed and eventually no longer require our services.
